た単一モードシリカガラス光ファイバに対して行なった。空孔が残されない区間
の生成に関して、対応する損傷区間の検討と既知の周期的空孔生成との比較に基
づいて議論した。伝搬限界ぎりぎりの強度の光を注入した光学的放電がエネルギーを失うと、周期的空孔を形成する代わりに頻繁に光パルスを放つ様になった。ファ
イバヒューズの点火の際にも、安定な光学的放電が出現する前に、類似のモード
が見出された。この過渡的なモード変換は、先に報告した不規則な空孔パターン
の原因である。
